I’ll tell you one thing; Muslims in India particularly in the past two decades have finally realised that they are falling behind in most of the social indices from education to jobs & wealth. With a waning political clout, they now know that if they won’t act fast, they risk being crippled permanently as the Indian society transitions from a low- income nation to a middle- income economy. The realisation that religion should be a private affair; pray, revel or do as it suits you but, you must realise that holding on to anachronistic practises inhibits progress (for people of all communities). The fact that people should be investing in education to climb up the social ladder is the ‘next big’ thing for Muslims in India.
